The village of Fornesighe

Fornesighe (1010m s.l.m.), a village in Forno di Zoldo, with its stone and wood houses constructed to reflect rural life needs, has an original and spontaneous architectural style throughout. Today, these homes offer warm and cosy hospitality, filled with tradition, and are located in sunny settings, in optimum positions to enjoy summer excursions and winter skiing.
A period of the year where silence does not necessarily prevail is when the village lives its two traditional feasts: "the Gnaga", a carnival festival with old and new hand-carved masks, and "Fornesighe in Music", where chamber music is played in various spots throughout the village.

The former is held in the first weekend of February, the latter during the second weekend of August (all that thanks to the Association Al piodech Zoldan).
Two other perfect reasons to visit the Fornesighe are to re-live the village traditions and to taste local culinary specialities.

Very close to Fornesighe is the Civetta Ski Resort, the National Park of the Dolomities of the Province of Belluno, the Cadore area, the Messner Mountain Museum (Rite mountain), the Passo Cibiana nordic slope and many others wonderful mountain places.
