The Zoldo Valley

The Valley of Zoldo lies in the province of Belluno. It has the Maè river furrowed through it. The Valley acts as the northern border to the National Park of the Dolomities of the Province of Belluno.
The Valley consists of a northern area, Zoldo Alto and a southern one, Forno di Zoldo. The Pelmo and Civetta mountains, that tower over the whole Valley, are amongst the most spectacular and appreciated mountains of the Dolomities. The base of the mountains is made of dolomites rock, formed 200 million years ago. Fossil traces at the base of the Pelmetto provide us with suggestive and surreal images, further enhances by the evidence of the period of origin of these, with the presence of megalodonts and ammonites.

At a time difficult for us to imagine, a slow geological time, natural processes brought about the the wonderful mountain formations that surround us today. And today, we can reach its wildest depths via mountain hikes, walks, mountain bike trips, climbing expeditions and "viaz".

And if summer opportunities for activities in nature are endless, there are 80 kms of slopes on th Dolomiti Super Ski - Civetta on offer. For those who love the silence of the mountains, horseback riding, unforgettable excursions with snowshoes and also for the more daring mountaineering skiers and ice climbers, all this is available in Val di Zoldo!

The area not only provides sports, traditions and cultural events, but also locals that offers services to visitors with the aim of making them feel guests in their homes and not everyday tourists.
